To find inspiration, one must have struggled, laughed and cried... "I once had a friend tell me that with my new motorcycle, I was 'hotter' than ever. I just laughed. I told him that I was the last girl he wanted to take seriously. I had a guitar to hide behind to express my feelings, karate to ward off anyone who'd try to get too close, and now a bike for a fast getaway if they should break down my walls."

Nikki was born in 1975, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She
and her three brothers were raised by her mother, with the help of her
grandmother and aunt, giving her a strong influence of feminine
independence. She was inspired by her mother's guitar and voice
since her earliest recollection of her mom introducing her to the guitar at age ten. For years, she held onto one song, until this new millennium, when she bought her own guitar
and decided just one song wasn't enough. "I
wanted to be able to sit in a quiet hallway, or at the foot of the
stairs in my solitude, and just sing."
In the late 1980's, Nikki's family moved to Washington State, where she graduated from high school, joining the Army in 1992, just two months after her seventeenth birthday. She served for ten years as a multimedia illustrator in the military as an enlisted soldier and a civilian contractor, and continues to tap that vein on projects for her current employer, Smithfield Police Department. Nikki graduated in 2002 with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems and again in 2004 with a B.A. in Business Management. |

In 2001, Nikki began working at a local concert venue, where she was exposed to a wide variety of music - and musicians. In that Spring, she managed a local band as they began their musical adventures, which spurred her decision to take time for herself and her own music. Now finished with her second CD, "Come Back Home", she can be seen in downtown Hampton, Virginia at various Open Mic Nights, or at Sarah's Irish Pub in Phoebus, VA. |
